School Refurbishment in Poland

Zespół Szkół w Łubowie

The SDL Foundation supported the modernization of classrooms in Poland for children with special educational needs.
Classroom Modernization Project

Project Update: Feb 2010

This application, put forward by SDL Poland, allowed for the refurbishment and update to classrooms for a school in Northern Poland. Many pupils from this school suffer from varying degrees of intellectual disability. Out of the 209 pupils, 23 are officially declared disabled and 116 children have been diagnosed with learning disabilities.

The school is able to provide classrooms and teachers but due to the poverty in this region there were no funds to purchase any specialized equipment to help the children cope with their disabilities.

With SDL's help, the school has been able to invest in classroom furniture and audiovisual equipment. The project has now been completed and children in the school are enjoying the new facilities.
