Global Regulatory Challenges Drive Multilingual Regional Solutions

Regional regulatory authorities, care providers and patients are demanding information in their local languages. The CLAS governance in the USA and PIM System in Europe are just two examples of the growing demands. XML authoring management and the publishing of data is emerging as the preferred standard for product information by regional governments.

Industry leaders are adopting initiatives to address the growing need for delivering accurate information in multiple languages. In order to successfully meet the initiative requirements, a combination of technologies and best practice is required. XML authoring, content management systems (CMS), multilingual asset management and dynamic publishing tools are core technologies in meeting the initiatives objectives.

Using EMEA’s Centralized Procedure (PIM) as a backdrop, this paper looks at the best practices and technology needed to address corporate initiatives for multilingual XML labeling.
